Blog 23: Recognize Your Divinity:
It Can Be No Other Way

“It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind
Commanding in another world
Suddenly you hear and see this magic new dimension.” [2]
I enjoy writing, but I often struggle with what and how to express my thoughts. There is so much I have experienced in life and so much I want to convey. I am grateful for all the experiences of life—the seemingly pleasant and the seemingly unpleasant. But in the midst of writing, as in life, I often find myself wandering down alternate paths and bunny trails that suddenly appear in front of me.
Spontaneous wanderings are not entirely without purpose. Spirit (our spiritual guides) often points us down a path—a starting point with a predetermined destination. However, along the way, Spirit may point out alternative routes to the same final location.
The choice to take the alternative path is a free will choice, and there is no judgment about our choice. Only karma—cause and effect—is realized, and karma is non-judgmental. These “spontaneous” wanderings may seem confused and aimless. But, in reality, they are just a different experience—a way for our souls to explore a different part of the spiritual universe.
When I write, I often struggle to be concise and direct. There are so many things I want to share. I remind myself of my original purpose for starting “The Spiritual Engineer” blog: to assist others in recognizing the significance of their individual journeys and to convey how I have learned to navigate throughout my journey.
On our journeys, we are all challenged. We all experience fear, anxiety, anger, disappointment, grief, and joy. At the same time, we are bound—one to another—by our individual and shared experiences. We learn, adjust, and grow spiritually. We are both the recipient and conduit through which wisdom flows. Wisdom and insight flow to and from each of us.
Through all of this, I seek enlightenment. I was recently reminded, through the reading of channeled material, that enlightenment is not a destination. We are already enlightened. We already are exceptional, divine, enlightened beings. In short:
“Enlightenment is not somewhere in the future after you say enough mantras or do enough meditations or go to enough gurus or sit in enough ashrams. Enlightenment is now. Now is the only place enlightenment can possibly exist. You are therefore enlightened right now, just as you are powerful right now. Just as most of you are unaware of your power in this very moment, so are you unaware of your enlightenment. Neither are something to attain but merely to realize. You need to realize the nature of your true self as a child of God—unlimited, creative, and powerful. You only need to realize these characteristics of yourself, and that’s why “self-realization” is the most accurate term for enlightenment.”
— The Great Awakening: Our Prophesized Transformation and the Attainment of Embodied Enlightenment by Mike Dooley, Darryl Anka, et al. Enlightenment is now
The current state of our perceived reality is revealed through the same channeled material:
“You are here to realize your true self, as opposed to only knowing yourself as your ego. Ego is the false self that believes in false power. The ego believes in separation from God, and it identifies with your physical body, mind, and personality. Your ego thinks these make up who you are, which is why it’s full of fear. It knows the body is easily assailed with weapons or natural disasters—being too hot, too cold, or whatever.”
(The Great Awakening: Our Prophesized Transformation and the Attainment of Embodied Enlightenment by Mike Dooley, Darryl Anka, et al. Perception of Ego)
This describes the trap of believing that your physical existence is reality. This belief creates fear of failure, fear of isolation, fear of ridicule and, above all, the fear of death. You cannot “fear” yourself into enlightenment.
In the past, I, like most, accepted ego’s construct that I am separated and isolated from the Creator. I accepted the lie that I am on my own—isolated and unworthy—and that my only way back to the Creator is through external religious or “spiritual” exercises.
The reality is that enlightenment exists within me now—patiently waiting to be reactivated. Enlightenment is self-realization—a blossoming of love from within that expands outward through Creation.
Physical existence is only a micro reality. It is only reality for the instantaneous moment in time that is the present, the Now. The past is gone, the future has not happened.
Our physical manifestation is but an instantaneous spark in the fabric of the infinite Creation. Taken as a whole, the thousands of lifetimes that we may live are no more than a single stitch in the fabric of the infinite tapestry. Existing in a finite body requires a finite measurement of existence—time.
In our true reality—spiritual and infinite, time does not exist. We are an inseparable part of the infinite Creation. We are an inseparable part of the infinite, timeless, and divine Creator. To be an inseparable part of the infinite, timeless, and divine means we are infinite, timeless, and divine. It can be no other way.
But yet, here I am, existing in a physical state, attempting to understand and control my path through this present lifetime. I worry about and regret what I have done in the past. I am anxious and/or overly idealistic about my future. I do not truly appreciate and show gratitude for the only moment that is real in my physical form—the present.
I deny that which is undeniable—that I am spiritual, I am magnificent—I am divine. Ironically, it is ego that tells me that these musings of divinity are egoic and boisterous. From the ego’s perspective, once you realize the divine within, you realize that you are the product of pure light and pure love, and ego ceases to have purpose.
From a physical and human perspective, I wish to convey my struggle to you. I struggle to understand my part in this magnificent Creation—one that is beyond the expression of human words.
I am coming to understand what it means to be a soul and the privilege it is to explore my spiritual nature through the vessel of a physical body. Now is the time to recognize who we truly are. Having stated this, I offer the following poem as a creative summary of what I have written:
Recognize
Recognize that you are a soul.
Recognize that you are temporarily human.
Recognize that you have a body—a limited, finite, physical body.
Recognize that you have an ego.
Recognize you are a soul.
Creator manifested.
Infinite, spiritual, state of being.
Finite body—infinite spirit.
All exists together — No past, no present, no future — no fear.
Fully present. Boundless. Expanding.
All reality.
Total synchronicity.
Entirely possible.
Power to manifest – Power to create.
Infinite, power unbounded.
Infinite, light unbounded.
Infinite, joy unbounded.
Infinite, peace unbounded.
Infinite, love unbounded.
Reflect the Christ within you.
Light manifests light. Oh light, devour the darkness.
Confronted by hatred? Reflect love and manifest peace.
Confronted with fear? Reflect peace and manifest joy.
Confronted with anger? Reflect empathy and manifest love.
World awash in control and greed? Cleanse with divine light.
Recognize you are a magnificent spiritual being.
A shining beacon of light—inseparable from the whole.
Created image of the Creator
Divine creation of the Divine.
You are divine.
It can be no other way.
